The Challenge

Manufacturing and production businesses rely on more than traditional office technology. From shared files and employee workstations to specialized printing equipment and CNC machinery, each system plays an important role in daily operations.

Sammel Group operates in this type of environment, combining everyday business technology with specialized production equipment and software.

As its technology needs evolved, several areas required attention, including aging server infrastructure, separate network environments, shared data access, and production workstation configurations.

The goal was to simplify the underlying technology environment while maintaining compatibility with the systems employees rely on.

Our Solution

01

Network Consolidation

Sammel Group previously operated with separate network environments, creating additional complexity when connecting devices and accessing shared resources.

We reconfigured the existing wireless infrastructure to operate alongside the primary business network, bringing workstations, connected devices, and shared resources into a more unified environment.

This reduced unnecessary network separation while retaining the company's existing wireless equipment.

02

Server Modernization and Centralized Storage

The company previously relied on a Windows Server environment for traditional network services.

We assisted with retiring its legacy server dependencies and transitioning employee workstations away from the previous domain configuration.

A Synology network-attached storage system was established to provide centralized access to shared business files.

This provided a more streamlined approach to managing shared data without requiring the same legacy server infrastructure.

03

Specialized Production Technology Support

Sammel Group uses specialized equipment and software supporting commercial printing and CNC production.

Our work included supporting the Onyx Thrive printing environment, relocating software licensing services to an appropriate workstation, organizing production file structures, and troubleshooting related workstation issues.

These changes helped simplify aspects of the existing production technology environment.

04

Ongoing IT Management

Beyond individual projects, we provide continued technology assistance and infrastructure management.

This includes supporting business workstations, network equipment, shared storage, and specialized technology needs as they arise.

Our familiarity with the company's environment allows us to provide support with an understanding of how its office and production systems work together.

The Outcome

Through these improvements, Sammel Group has moved toward a more streamlined and manageable technology environment.

  • Consolidated network connectivity across business devices and shared resources.
  • Transitioned away from legacy Windows Server dependencies.
  • Established dedicated centralized network storage.
  • Reorganized elements of the production file environment.
  • Updated configurations supporting specialized printing software.
  • Established continued IT support across office and production technology.
